Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi Shine Nail Lacquer Petra 140 Review
Thursday, December 01, 2016
I don't feature nail lacquers very often on my blog, so when I gush about one, it's probably a very good sign! This one by Marc Jacobs is such a special colour, let me show you properly:
I'm really not a nail person, I wish I was, but I'm not that talented and on top of that I think I may be allergic to some ingredient in varnishes because my nails get completely destroyed if I use nail lacquer regularly.
But today I really wanted to showcase this beautiful nail varnish by Marc Jacobs Beauty.
Formula and Lasting Power
This nail varnish has a lovely consistency: it isn't too thick or thin, it applies evenly and easily. I'm not very good at painting my nails but the brush helps and it doesn't pool along the edges and has a smooth finish.
As it has a metallic finish you can't see mistakes so easily and it dries very quickly! One coat can be a little bit transparent in some places so I always do two, but it never looks streaky.
Most nail varnishes don't last that long on my nails because of my issues, but this one seems to hold quite well. The tips of my index fingers are the first to fade, but with a good top coat I'm sure it would last longer.
Colour
When the Marc Jacobs beauty line was first introduced into Sephora Spain this is one of the first products I picked up because of the beautiful original colour. It's supposed to be a "dirty bronze metallic shimmer" and to me it's a plummy taupe with bronze and silver shimmer.
It has lots of different multicoloured shimmer so it's a beautifully complex shade and perfect for autumn and winter.
Overall
I'm very happy I picked up this outstandingly beautiful shade. At 12 euros for 13 ml it's well priced and would consider buying more of the shimmery shades.
Application and formula is very good and it lasts longer than the average on my nails. If you haven't tried any I'd recommend you take a look at them!
Do you like to wear metallic shades like this one on your nails?
