Frezyderm Sun Screen Velvet Review
Tuesday, May 30, 2017
We should all use sun screen everyday and finding a good one to use under makeup can sometimes be a challenge. Here is a sun screen which has been formulated just for that!
Last summer I was very lucky to get the chance to discover Frezyderm's sunscreen range, and I have to say that I've been very impressed with the products. You can read my first impressions on the products here: Frezyderm sun screen range..
I hadn't got the chance to tell you about this sun screen which I consider a very innovative product as it's a sun screen and primer all-in-one.
Packaging
I have to say I find the packaging aesthetically pleasing and it's also well designed and functional. It looks like a test tube with bold lettering and bright colours. The gold accents make it look stylish and modern.
It has a very handy twist top pump so it dispenses the amount you need and you can rest assured it will stay closed when travelling. A pump is also more hygienic and you waste less product.
Formula
This sun screen is paraben free and dermatologically tested, suitable for all skin types and ages.
It has a matte finish and absorbs excess oil and sebum so I find it is an interesting formula for oily skin.
It does contain silicones which give that velvety finish. The silicones soften lines and wrinkles as well as reducing the appearance of pores, but it is important to clean the skin well so that it doesn't clog them.
Effect
Here we have a multitasking product as it provides protection from burning, photo-aging and also acts as a primer softening lines and absorbing excess oil.
It has a very pleasing velvety matte finish although it still seems to let the skin breathe. For combination to oily skin it's a great option but dry skins may need to use a moisturizer before as it isn't hydrating.
It is water resistant and yet doesn't leave a white cast on the skin. Here I have the SPF30 sun block but they also sell the ultra high SPF50 which I prefer for my white skin in summer.
Overall
I have heard other girls complaining of clogged pores due to the silicones, but I think that by doing a rigorous double cleanse every evening you can avoid this problem and enjoy this sun screen and primer.
I love it because it acts like a brilliant primer for my combination skin whilst still protecting me from harmful UVA and UVB rays. I will definitely consider repurchasing it and I recommend it if you're looking for a good sun screen to wear with makeup.
What sun screen do you use?
