NARS Audacious Lipstick in Brigitte review and swatches
Tuesday, November 22, 2016
Lipsticks are possibly my favourite makeup product, when I first got into makeup I was scared of trying bold colours, but now I love trying out new shades. Today I'm going to show you a beautiful colour of one of my favourite lipstick formulas!
My lips are very dry and don't seem to accept all formulations of lipsticks. So when I find a good formula, I go crazy and buy many shades! The NARS Audacious lipstick range is without one of my favourites, although very expensive!
Packaging
These are the most luxurious of the lip products NARS have to offer, and the packaging thankfully lives up to expectations. The lipstick case is sleek matte black, square but rounded edges and pleasantly magnetized. The case have the letters NARS on them and the lipstick bullet has the name engraved on it.
Very cool and sleek and James Bond-like in a way.
Formula and Finish
I always worry about creamy lipsticks because they can tend to slip or bunch at the lip lines but on the other hand dry lip products make my lips look crinkly and don't look good on chapped lips.
NARS seem to have nailed it with the formula of the NARS Audacious lipsticks: they offer a true creamy finish with intense pigmentation in one swipe.
They don't slide on the lips, they don't enhance lines or fade, they actually last ages on the lips comfortably. They feel soft and nourishing and I wear them all day happily.
They're so intensely pigmented that even the lighter shades will cover your natural lip colour completely which I find incredible.
When first applied they seem quite shiny but then they dry down to more of a satin finish, they're stunning!
Colour
There are over 40 different shades in the range and today I'm showing you Brigitte, which was named after the very famous Brigitte Bardot.
NARS describes it as a "nude rose" but it's actually a coral-leaning warm rose. It adds life to my face and is incredibly flattering on my skin tone. For light skin tones it's a lovely "my lips but more coral".
The darker shades last a little longer than the light ones like this one but it still has great lasting power considering the colour it is.
Overall
If you haven't picked up any of the NARS Audacious lipsticks I really recommend you do. They're pricey at £ 24 but in my opinion they're well worth it and the range of colours is unbelievable!
The shade Brigitte is absolutely beautiful if you're into coral nudes. It's comfortable, creamy, covers the lips entirely and makes them look plump and full.
Have you tried the Audacious lipsticks? Which is your favourite?
