Warm Look of the Day with NARS Iberico
Wednesday, April 22, 2015
Things have been pretty hectic lately; not only are my weekdays busy but I have also had blogger events at the weekend which has reduced considerably the time for me to prepare posts the way I like to.
I've been dying to show you this look because the sun is starting to show its face more often and a beautiful tomato red just brightens up my face and my spirit.
For today's look I've used quite a few products that I hadn't been paying much attention to; one must always remember to use all our makeup even though it's easy to get caught up with new items.
Foundation and Concealer
I really must use the Chanel Loose Powder foundation, it's a lovely light foundation which you could also use over a lighter base. I love that it's so long lasting and gives a beautiful finish without being flat. Make sure you head over to read my full review of the Chanel Vitalumière Loose Powder foundation.
Once again I'm using the NARS Creamy Radiant concealer. I find it's okay as long as I don't apply too much and I set it well, otherwise it can crease a bit. You can even see the crease in the final pics!
Eyes and Brows
I don't have many Bobbi Brown products, the ones I do were given to me by my mum (thanks, mum!) and this is one of the first things I tried by her. This Bobbi Brown Bronze Eye Palette was a limited edition quad and it consists of four warm toned shadows.
There is an orangey peach matte shadow, a golden brown satin eyeshadow and two very sparkly shadows: a golden one and a coppery one. I used the peach shade in the crease and then used the coppery shimmery shade on my eyelid, using the darker brown to darken the outer third of my eye.
I also used MAC Teddy Eye Khol which is a great coffee colour and a real must-have by MAC in my opinion. It's quite creamy and long-lasting and the shade is just perfect.
I then applied Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara which is a sample I received from Space NK. It's an okay everyday mascara, it doesn't clump and it lengthens the lashes but it's quite pricey for what it does.
This time I used Hourglass Brow Arch Sculpting Pencil to fill in my brows. I want to review this in depth so expect my opinion soon!
Lips and Cheeks
Let's give a warm welcome to the star of the show: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Iberico. This is a stunning tomato red shade, which can lean quite orange and it's gorgeous for the warm months. This was a limited edition shade in one of the Holiday coffrets.
The finish is velvety just as the name suggests, and it's incredibly long wearing and very comfortable on the lips! I really urge you to take a look at my full review of the NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret
Finally I'm going to show you one of my oldest products: my first ever NARS blush! I had heard that Orgasm was "the best blush in the world" and I ordered this one in an ASOS offer. It actually turned out to be NARS Super Orgasm so it's very glittery indeed.
I really hope to hit pan sometime soon, it isn't too bad but I don't think I'd buy it again due to the shimmer factor.
Finished Look
Here is the finished look, which is an overall warm toned look. I've played with reds and peaches in this look to match the warm weather.
I like how the lipstick makes my eyes stand out even more and warm shades always compliment my skintone very nicely.
Do you prefer to wear warm or cool tones?
