By Terry Give Me 5 Smoky Eyes Kit review and swatches

If you want to treat someone or treat yourself to a really luxurious gift this Christmas take a look at this set By Terry has to offer. You get five products by this high end company to achieve the perfect smoky eye look.
One of my all time favourite products for my eyes is the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Brown Perfection and I had my eye on the rest of these cream eyeshadow sticks. When I saw this set for sale I decided it was a great deal because not only do I get another Ombre Blackstar shade to try but I have a full set of By Terry products to complete my eye looks.
First of all it is all included in a lovely clutch purse which I think is a great idea. Not only will the recipient get makeup products for a full smoky look but they'll also have a lovely clutch they can use for the holiday parties! It's very festive looking in purple and silver with a fine red line and it closes with a hidden press button. I think it's a nice touch!
Now onto the contents of this pricey set. Firstly we get a little instruction booklet with step by step instructions to get three different smoky looks: the classic smoky, double smoky and reverse smoky. This is great if you're giving this set to someone without much experience and it's always good to get tips to use the products in a better or special way.
Hyaluronic Eye Primer
This is a lid primer which can also be used for the contour as a concealer which is supposed to lighten, brighten and moisturize the area. This is a great option for those who want to use a primer but find that others leave the area too dry.
It has skincare benefits which is something I always appreciate and it leaves the skin plumped and moisturized. I also noticed that the eyeshadow colours seemed more vibrant and smooth on application which is a real plus.
I don't think it's the best primer for oily lids though, as I did notice some creasing at the end of the day. Nevertheless I enjoy the skincare benefits of this expensive primer.
Ombre Blackstar in Bronze Moon
This is one of the star products of this luxury make and I have to agree that although it's pricey I really enjoy these cream eyeshadow sticks. This one is a flattering bronze with gold shimmer which I prefer to use blended out all over the lid. Its easy to blend and stays put most of the day if used with primer.
It's a wind up creamy stick that you can apply directly to the eyelid and you can blend at ease with your fingers. I find myself reaching for the Ombre Backstars when I'm in a hurry but still want a polished look.
Crayon Khol Terrybly in Black Print
Here we have a blacker than black eye liner in pencil format which is incredibly creamy and long lasting. It even seems like gel in the way it just glides on the eyelids without tugging which I love. I wasn't particularly excited at first about a black eye pencil but I have to say that it's lovely to use and a must in a smoky eye set!
Terrybly Growth Booster Mascara
Here we have the volumizing mascara that By Terry is offering in this set. I have to admit that I find that it gives me more length than volume but it's a lovely all round mascara. It isn't waterproof but it doesn't smudge and it's supposed to promote lash growth, something I haven't had the chance to notice yet but I find very intriguing!
Eyebrow Liner
I was very surprised to see a brow product included in the set, but it is true that you need to sort out your brows if you want a perfected eye look. This is a liner in a felt tip format and the tip is very fine so that you can literally draw on small hairs to your brows.
I find it is possible to do so quite easily but the shade is quite light and reddish so I don't think it'll suit all brows. Girls with dark eyebrows or ashy brows will find this isn't right for them and for this reason I think they should've included something more universally suitable.
All in all it's a nice set of By Terry products and they all perform superbly. It is incredibly pricey but this makeup line usually is and if you wanted to try more of her products this is a varied set. I may review each product more in depth once I have had the chance to use them for longer.
