My Recipe for Surimi Pasta
Sunday, November 23, 2014
This is one of those dishes I keep for days that I haven't actually bought anything to cook. It's easy to make and it's also very tasty and nutritious. It'll really look like you've made a great effort! Let's put on our chef's hat!
Ingredients:
- Pasta of your choice (1 cup for 2 people)
- 1 small onion (or half a large one)
- 1 small carton of cooking cream
- 150 ml of white wine
- 1 packet of surimi (8 sticks 150 g)
- olive oil
- salt
- pepper
I usually keep these ingredients at home so that I can cook this recipe if I need!

Recipe:
First I start to cook the pasta following the instructions on the packet, generally I use a cup of pasta which makes enough for two and I add it to boiling water with a pinch of salt and olive oil. While the pasta is boiling I chop the onion finely and start to heat some olive oil in a medium-sized frying pan.
I start to fry the chopped onion and with a pair of cooking scissors I cut the surimi sticks and add them to the pan. It's important not to burn the onion or surimi, we want the onion to turn a little golden. At that moment I add the white wine, it needn't be anything fancy though, just the supermarket wine!
I wait for the wine to simmer for a little while and some of it evaporates, at that point I add the carton of cooking cream. Don't forget to check the pasta! As soon as the pasta is ready I drain it and add it to the pan!!
Mix the pasta well with the cream and surimi and at that point it'll be more like a sauce. I like to add a bit of pepper and then the dish is ready to serve and enjoy.
I like to serve it in these individual dishes from Ikea as it looks a little fancier and voilá, it's ready to be enjoyed! I suppose it would be lovely to serve with some nice white wine, but we aren't wine drinkers!
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy pasta recipe! Tell me in the comment section if you give this recipe a go!
